Our refund policy

Snow tires have been designed to handle the challenges of snow, ice, slush, and cold in multiple ways. Snow tires were once used exclusively to give traction on snow-covered roads. Studs were added to give traction on ice. These tires had an open tread pattern that allowed snow to escpe from under the tire. The metal studs chipped into the surface of the road to provide even better traction. Chipping into the surface can damage roads that aren't covered in ice or snow, so at least ten states don't allow studded snow tires and other states limit their use to winter months.

Once the damage that studded snow tires could do to roads was appreciated, snow tires were designed to grip the road better without studs. These snow tires are made with rubber that stays soft at low temperatures and tread patterns designed to provide traction. The tread of these tires often contains siping, small ridges throughout the tread, that allow the tire to grip wet, slick surfaces better than a smooth tread. Modern studless snow tires continue to be effective even with 4/32 of tread remaining because of the softness of the rubber and the siping. Our snow tires have been checked thoroughly and should provide good performance during the winter.
